SAMPE China 2025 Annual Conference: Authoritative Media Spotlight on Protech's 3D Composites
SAMPE China 2025 Annual Conference & the 20th International Exhibition on advanced composite products, raw Materials, tooling, engineering and applications was held at Beijing International Exhibition Center (Chaoyang Hall) from June 18 to 20, 2025. This was a premier event held by SAMPE for 20 years in China. SAMPE spanned 7 halls across 32,000 square meters, showcasing over 400 global enterprises and attracting more than 12,000 professional visitors.
At the exhibition, Protech’s self-developed 3D composites and 3D forming technology were in the spotlight. The innovation achieved an integrated forming technology of complex structures through precise control of the interwoven paths of continuous fibers within three-dimensional space, which had overcome limitations of traditional two-dimensional laminated materials. The booth design synergized with novel product technologies, bringing an eye-catching showcase that drew interviews from authoritative media including CCTV’s program - “Innovation China”. During the interview, Dr. Johnny Zhou from Protech introduced the unique advantages of independent innovative 3D composites technology and its downstream products.
At the exhibition, 3D continuous fiber-reinforced honeycomb structures drew significant attention. The structure fundamentally resolved interfacial failures including delamination, cracking, debonding and other problems in the traditional bonded honeycombs, while it enhanced specific strength/stiffness, compression/impact resistance, environmental durability and comprehensive stability significantly. Furthermore, it delivered controllable thermo-mechanical properties with the coefficient of thermal expansion being precisely controlled through the selection of fiber type and structural design.
Protech drove the industrial-scale application of advanced 3D composites technologies, ensuring optimal performance-cost equilibrium. The core technological advantages lied in design flexibility and precision automated manufacturing capabilities, enabling adjustments of 3D composites including dimensions, geometry and topological configurations within monolithic components. This facilitates optimized load-path management and enhanced damage tolerance, while supporting hybrid fiber architectures for on-demand performance customization. These breakthroughs made 3D composites deliver revolutionary lightweight solutions with high reliability and extended service life for applications in aerospace including wings, fairings, cabin structures, and advanced equipment manufacturing such as load-bearing components and protective assemblies, etc.
At the exhibition, the demonstration of Protech's 3D new composite material manufacturing technology not only reflected the company's innovative strength in the field of composites, but also brought new opportunities and possibilities for the development of related industries. We invited industry partners to jointly explore the vast potential of 3D composites and promote composite technologies to new heights. All these would deliver suprises and extraordinary innovations for the life and industries.
