Dr. Johnny Zhou Was Invited To Attend 2024 China High Performance Fiber Research And Application Forum

"2024 China High Performance Fiber Research and Application Forum" co-sponsored by China Bluestar Chengrand Co.,Ltd., Hubei Integrative Technology and Innovation Center for Advanced Fiberous Materials, Sichuan Textile Science Research Institute Co., LTD, Sichuan Chemical Fiber Industry Association was successfully held in Chengdu from November 27 to 29, 2024. This forum attracted more than 350 representatives from universities, institutes and leading enterprises of national defense industries involved in fiber raw materials development and equipments research presentation. Dr. Johnny Zhou president of Proteh was invited to make an academic speech for the forum. Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, professors from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Donghua University, Tsinghua University, Sichuan University and experts in the industry were invited to make reports on the development trend of high performance fiber and composite material, industry, empowering the high-quality development of the high-performance fiber industry, new technology, new requirements, new application etc.

Dr. Johnny Zhou made a speech entitled with "Research on Application and Mechanism of High Performance Composites In Ballistic Field",in which he introduced the advantage of UHMWPE fibers , para-aramid, heterocyclic aromatic polyamide fibers, PBO fibers and PI fibers in ballistic composite materials, explored the ballistic response behavior of high-performance fiber composites and revealed the ballistic damage mechanism, progressive response process and response mechanisms in details. And he predicted the development trend of the high-performance fiber composites. He pointed out that composite materials will continue to develop with the direction of lightweight, high performance and muti functions. Quantitative indicators for the ballistic performance of UHMWPE fiber composites after projectile impact were discussed. The efficient prediction of these quantitative indicators was critical to the field of engineering applications.

Scientific and technological development in the next hundred year would focus on  the fields of basic materials, energy and power, information science and technology, life science, and interstellar exploration, with technologies across various fields collectively supporting humanity's future. And high-performance fibers, as an important strategic material for the development of aerospace and national defense industries for the globe, represented one of a key indicator of national strength through their production technologies and equipment levels. The field of high-performance fibers was intersecting and integrating with emerging technologies, creating an unprecedented multi-dimensional development space globally, presenting new development trends such as green, diversity, extremity, intelligence, integration, and service. As one of the leading companies in the domestic ballistic composite material industry, over the past two decades, Protech had continued to focus on innovative research and development and the improvement of product performance.
