On April 22nd to 23rd , 2025, the 2nd Forum on the Development of Forming Technology and Equipment for Carbon Fiber & Its Composite Material and the Conference on Supply and Demand Development of Composite Materials Industry were successfully held in Shanghai titled "Strengthening Material Foundations, Intelligent Manufacturing for the Future of Composites." The forum brought together industry experts, technical leaders, corporate executives, and representatives from the supply chains to make the discussions about carbon fiber and composite materials production, specialized equipment, and forming processes, aiming to tackle industry challenges and elevate high-performance fiber composites to new heights. Dr. Johnny Zhou, president and general manager of Protech, attended the forum as an invited expert and made a keynote speech titled“Forming Technology and Application Research on High Performance Fiber Reinforced 3D Composites ”.


The speech marked the first release of Protech's technological breakthroughs and theoretical research achievements in this field. It provided an in-depth analysis of the forming technology and mechanical properties of three-dimensional (3D) composite materials, combining experimental and simulation methods to highlight the mechanical response and damage evolution process of 3D continuous honeycomb composites under in-plane and out-of plane loads as well as 3D continuous fiber composite mechanical response and damage evolution. It demonstrated the engineering applications of 3D continuous fiber composites in the fields of plates, shafts, beams, columns, tubes, complicated shaped components, shells, boxes, domes and so on which showed that 3D composites had great potentials for application in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, sporting devices , medical devices and other fields.
